Man that night in the vacant lot sure scared me. I don't know what I was more afraid of, Darry finding out I had gotten myself hooked up with a murder rap, or the cops who I knew would be lookin to pin a rap like that on some poor greaser from the wrong side of the tracks. I know Johnny didn't mean to kill him, he was just trying to protect me, but ya gotta admit he had all the reason to kill Bob after the way he was worked over and left half dead by the guy.

Who is Ponyboy Curtis from S.E Hinton's The Outsiders

When I stepped out into the bright sunlight from the darkness of the movie house, I had only two things on my mind: Paul Newman and a ride home. Fitting words that mark the coming of age of the character Ponyboy Curtis from S.E. Hinton's famous book The Outsiders. Pony is a 14 year old Greaser, a member of a gang of youths in 1965 Tulsa Oklahoma. Small for his age he has light-brown reddish hair and greenish gray eyes. One of Ponyboys most endearing qualities throughout the book has to be his understanding and caring attitude about those he is closest to. Everyone that is except his brother Darry who he misunderstands completely.
